Kingfisher…at last!

Kingfisher_3

Early morning found myself at Tophill Low once more. Not a promising start with dull weather and a cold northerly wind. A Grey Heron flew in for a brief stop but hid among the reeds. A Barn Owl was hunting over the river and I managed to get an average photograph of it in flight. Suddenly, a Kingfisher perched close-by and I snapped more than a hundred frames as it turned and modelled for me. I was so pleased (and hungry) from all this excitement, I ordered two bacon sandwiches from the local farm shop on my way home!
